Code Club is a network of free volunteer-led after school coding clubs for children aged 9-11. Using specially developed projects, the children learn how to program by making computing games, animations and websites. Code Club is run for an hour a week after school, on Thursdays in the ICT suite.
Each term, pupils progress and learn more whilst at the same time using their imagination and making creative projects. Terms 1 & 2 use Scratch to teach the basics of programming. Term 3 teaches the basics of web development using HTML and CSS. Term 4 teaches Python and so on.
Currently, Code Club is offered to Y5 pupils. If you are interested, please see Mrs. Littlewood for further information.
In Key Stage 1, there is a Computing Club which Mr Kearon runs every Wednesday for an hour after school during the autumn term.
As well as developing their keyboard skills and mouse control, the children attempt different challenges each week which allow them to develop a range of computing skills and access a variety of software programmes such as drawing, publishing and animation packages.
Currently, Computing Club is offered to pupils from Year 1 and Year 2. If you are interested, please see Mr Kearon for further information.
The children have designed their own websites by writing lines of code. Click on the link to view their amazing work!
