Monday 1st March

Good morning Year 3.  Today there is some Maths, English and Computing for you to have a go at.  Make sure you upload your work onto Seesaw so that I can have a look at what you have been doing.

Reading Plus and TT Rockstars

Start today by spending some time completing at least two sessions of your reading plus and some time practising your timetables on TT Rockstars.

Maths

This week we are continuing with the topic of measurement and are looking at Comparing Measures..  Take a look at the video (link below) and give the attached activities a go.  Keep an eye out for a video input that we will put on Seesaw.

English

This week, we are going to look at a particular book as it is World Book Day this Thursday.  The book we are going to look at for the week is - Here We Are by Oliver Jeffers.

To start off, I would like you to look at the PowerPoint which is attached below.  Take a look at the cover of the book and give your answers to the questions that are on the second slide.  These could be written or recorded verbally.

When you have looked at the book cover and answered the initial questions, click on the link below and it will take you to a video of the book being read aloud to you.  Have a listen to it and send me a video of what you thought of the book.  Did you enjoy it?  Do you think there is a message to the story?

We will explore the book more throughout the week.

Computing

With us only having one more week before we are all back together, I thought we would be best having a consolidation type lesson for our computing.

I therefore would like you to create your own PowerPoint presentation!  It can be on anything you like.  It could be a quiz, and informative PowerPoint, an animated comic strip, an interactive poster which opens new slides with information when you click on different sections.  It could be anything that you can think of doing.

I do want you to try and include as much of the features of PowerPoint that we have looked at over the last half term though including:

  • Text
  • Word art
  • Images
  • Shapes
  • Animations
  • Timings
  • Hyperlinks

Good luck.  Can't wait to see what you produce.
