Recorder Club is where children can learn new pieces to play for enjoyment and can perform in assemblies. Learning the recorder is a great introduction to playing a musical instrument. From here, many children go on to play other instruments as they have gained a musical foundation and understanding of musical timing, rhythm and have the ability to read music.
Children are regularly entered to take part in the Music Medals examinations set by The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. Music Medals consist of 3 required elements:
There is a clear structure within Music Medals which children can progress through, starting with the Copper Medal, followed by Bronze, Silver, Gold and finally Platinum.
Mrs Valentine runs recorder club - the date and time of the club will be confirmed and shared with children and parents via the newsletter.
