Thursday 25th February

Good morning Year 3.  Today there is some Maths, English, RE and PSHE for you to have a go at.  Make sure you upload your work onto Seesaw so that I can have a look at what you have been doing.

Reading Plus and TT Rockstars

Start today by spending some time completing at least two sessions of your reading plus and some time practising your timetables on TT Rockstars.

Today you are going to look at equivalent measures of lengths converting between millimetres and centimetres.  Have a look at the lesson video (link below) and then give the attached activities a go.

Continuing with our work on homophones, today I want you to look at a different set.  By the end of the lesson, you will have a strong understanding of what the words, were, where, we're and wear mean and when we use them.

Have a look at the PowerPoint and give the attached activities a go.  Write the sentences out and either underline or write your chosen homophone in another colour.

Like yesterday, as an extension activity, I would like you all to make up your own sentences using were, where, wear and we're.

Give me:

  • 1 sentence containing each homophone (4 sentences altogether)
  • 3 sentences using 2 of the homophones in each sentence (try to use different combinations)
  • 2 sentences which contain all 3 of the homophones.  Try to have a different context for each sentence.

Today we are going to have a think about the Liturgy of the Eucharist.  Have a read through the page which is attached and then give the second activity which is written at the bottom of it a go.  You could do this written using bullet points, as a poster or even as a PowerPoint.

Today, you are looking at how having a happy mind can make a happy person.  Thinking positive thoughts and always seeing the best in a situation is called having a positive attitude to life. It can make you a happier person and plays an important part in having good mental health.

Read through the PowerPoint which is attached below and then you are going to create a list poem where every line starts with the words "Happiness is...." You can illustrate your poem once you have written down all the things that make you happy.
