Tuesday 19th January

Good morning Year 3.  Today there is some Maths, English, RE and PE for you to have a go at.  Make sure you upload your work onto Seesaw so that I can have a look at what you have been doing.

Reading Plus and TT Rockstars

Start today by spending some time completing at least one session of your reading plus and some time practising your timetables on TT Rockstars.

Today we are going to spend time practising our short division (bus stop) method.  Like the short multiplication, this is something which we just need to keep working on to make sure that we fully understand it.

Keep an eye out for the input video which we will put on Seesaw and give the questions below a go.  Make sure you message us on Seesaw if you need any help with anything.

Grammar starter - Adverbials

Today we are going to think about adverbs and adverbial phrases.  Take a look at the introductory lesson presentation to adverbs and complete the activities to get yourselves warmed up.

Main English

Have another read of the Stone Age Boy and see if you can find any adverbial phrases.  Post one that you have found on the section I will set up on Seesaw for you to share what you have found with one another.  Try not to type the same phrase as everyone else.

You are now going to write a postcard home to your parents pretending that you are the Stone Age Boy.  You are going to tell them about some of the things you have got up to while you have been in the Stone Age but every sentence must contain an adverbial phrase.  Make sure you have reread the Stone Age Boy to get some ideas of what you will write about and then give it a go.  There is a postcard template on here but you do not have to print or use it, it is just there as a guide for what a postcard looks like.  Good luck!

During the Church's year, we have a number of feast days when we think about certain events or about certain people.  We have says which are dedicated to the memory of different saints.  Today, I would like you to choose a saint and conduct some research about their feast day.  You might choose a saint whose name you might share, or of a particular saint that you have heard mentioned a lot in readings at church or stories at school.  Choose one and then present your findings in whichever way you would like to.  You could create a poster, design a booklet or video yourself delivering the information verbally.

Show us that you have kept active today.  Joe Wicks has started his live PE sessions again on his Youtube channel so this could be one way that you keep yourselves moving today.  It can be anything you want though as long as you are getting yourselves active.  Remember to wrap up if you do anything outside.
