Good morning Year 3. Today there is some Maths, English, RE and PE for you to have a go at. Make sure you upload your work onto Seesaw so that I can have a look at what you have been doing.
Reading Plus and TT Rockstars
Start today by spending some time completing at least one session of your reading plus and some time practising your timetables on TT Rockstars.
Today we are going to continue with our topic of money in maths. In this session, we are again going to just do a quick lesson to recap on knowledge that we should really already have before moving onto looking at the Year 3 material.
Take a look at the video (link below) and then have a go at the activities on the attached worksheets.
Grammar starter - sorting adjectives
To get ourselves warmed up for the writing you are going to be completing today, we are going to give this activity a go. Take a look at all of the adjectives and sort them into the correct boxes.
Moving on from our plan for our own Stone Age Boy story, we are going to write the first part of our story. This will consist of your Stone Age Boy character being in the cave, noticing the cave painting and then finding himself back in the Stone Age.
You big focus for this section of your writing is to set the scene and describe the settings of this story (the cave and then the stone age). You need to put yourselves into the shoes of the character and use all of your senses to describe the setting so that your reader feels like they are really there with you.
Your success criteria is as follows:
I have included a setting description mat which you can look at to help your with some keywords which you could include in your own writing. I am also going to aim to do a shared write with the children in school on Monday afternoon for this and get it either onto Seesaw or the Video Resource Centre on the school website. Use this to give you some help and an example to work from.
REMEMBER TO LOOK AT YOUR PLAN!! That is why we spent an entire session doing it!!!
Throughout this unit of our RE we have thought about the journey through a year. We have considered events that are important to us and events that are important to the Church.
Today I want you to combine your learning from RE with your PowerPoint skills from computing. You are going to create a presentation about a season/feast day which is important you and to the Church. I think the main choices would be Advent, Christmas, Lent or Easter. I want you to present to me why the time of the liturgical calendar is important to you on a personal level and from the point of view of being a Christian.
You could present this in another way such as a poster or booklet if you didn’t want to do it using Microsoft PowerPoint.
Show us that you have kept active today. Joe Wicks has started his live PE sessions again on his Youtube channel so this could be one way that you keep yourselves moving today. It can be anything you want though as long as you are getting yourselves active. Remember to wrap up if you do anything outside.
