WEEKS 2 & 3

For the next two weeks you will studying a book called 'Weslandia'. Like last week, there is a video each day. You can find the videos for these in the Video Resource Centre on the home page of the website. Any worksheets need are in this folder but you can do your writing in a workbook. Remember to keep your writing just like you do in class:

  • capital letters - for the beginning of sentences, for names of places, people etc.
  • punctuate your sentences with full-stops, question marks, exclamation marks
  • If you include direct speech, then you will need to punctuate this too.

Think about the other grammar we have focused on in the autumn term:

  • commas in lists
  • fronted adverbials
  • present perfect tense

Think how we have been learning how to make our writing more interesting:

  • onomatopoeia
  • metaphors
  • personification
  • similes

In this unit, you will be learning about:

  • modal verbs
  • antonyms
  • time and place conjunctions

This is a very creative unit of work - you will be making your own civilisation! Your final writing task is to write a persuasive brochure about it.
