Welcome to Reception!

Reception Class Staff

Wecome back! We hope you have all had a really relaxing half term break.

This term is going to be really busy! The children will be learning all about minibeasts. We will be focusing on Eric Carle's 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' and we will be doing lots of work around this story which are outlined in the Curriculum Overview for summer 2. We have already took part in dance sessions, please take a look at the video resource centre on the website home page.

We are looking forward to our class trip to the Liverpool Philharmonic Concert later this term and our visit from the Nomad Rangers to come and work in the nature garden with us.

The children are going to visit the year 1 classroom and teachers this term which will aid a smooth transition for the children. I am sure they will all be fine as they have worked in year 1 quite a lot this year but we will miss them and cherish our last few weeks with them this term!

We are holding an Ugly Bug Ball on the last day of term with the children and we would like to invite you into school at 2pm Friday 21st July and the children will perform some songs and rhymes about minibeasts. We would like the children to dress up as a bug for the ball - it doesn't have to be anything extravagant - just a few spots on a t-shirt for a ladybird on wings for a butterfly. We are looking forward to this and we cant wait to share everything we have learnt with you.
