WELCOME TO YEAR 1

PE:

Our PE days are MONDAY and TUESDAY. Please ensure that pupils come to school dressed in their PE kit on these days.

 

Homework:

Phonics Reading Books:

Children will receive a phonics reading book each Tuesday, which must be returned the following Monday so that it can be changed.

Please remember to add a comment in your child’s Reading Log to let us know how they have got on with their reading. Thank you for your support!

 

Reading Challenge:

Children will receive a Reading Challenge book each Friday, which must be returned by the date stated on the form.

Please ensure that any pictures are completed in pencil. Some of the books may be challenging, so you are welcome to support your child where needed. However, please ensure that all writing and drawings are completed by your child, allowing them to develop their own skills and confidence.

 

Maths Seeds:

Children are expected to spend a minimum of 30 minutes a week on Maths seeds. This will be monitored by the Class Teacher.

 

Food and Drink:

All children should bring a water bottle each day filled with clean water. No juice/cordial is permitted.

Fruit is provided at the beginning of each break. Children may bring their own fruit if they wish. Your child is responsible for any containers that are brought into school. Please ensure all containers are labelled.
