Welcome to Year Six

Welcome back and a very warm welcome to Year 6!  We have a great year to look forward to with an exciting, packed curriculum and not forgetting our residential trip to Low Bank Ground (Monday 16th March-.20th March 2026) 

PE/GAMES 

Our PE and Games days are on TUESDAY and FRIDAY.  Please ensure that children attend school in the correct kits on these days.

HOMEWORK 

Each week our children will be tested on specific times tables and their homework will be to learn these.

SPELLING TEST

Spelling test will be every Friday.

READING BOOK

Every child has been issued with a reading book.  Each child will be expected to complete a book review after they have read their book. This should be completed either in blue pen of pencil (not felt tip) to a high standard and have lots of detail. Children are encouraged to read every day at school and home.  Please note that books are only changed on Wednesdays.  It is important that your child sticks to the deadline, as we are trying to encourage the importance of taking responsibility for their own learning and being efficient readers.
