Welcome to the Year Two class page!
We are so happy to see you all back in school and ready to embark on your year in Year 2. I have sent a letter home outlining all the important things that you and your parents will need to remember. This year we will be using Seesaw to post all our homework and spellings but any messages should still be written in your child's planner, as usual. Seesaw is only being used to post and mark work and is not accessed by staff on a daily basis. Just in case you misplace your letter here are the important things to remember:
Homework - Posted on Seesaw on Thursday - hand in Monday morning
Spellings - handed out on Thursday for spelling quiz the following Friday - Year 2 spellings will be tested and Year 1 spellings will be taught in school but not tested. The Year 1 lists have been sent home for your reference and to learn with your child.
PE/Games - Tuesday and Thursday (all children need to come to school in their PE and Games kits and trainers. Please ensure they have their games kit on as we will be outside even if its chilly)
Reading books - to be sent into school on a Friday and issued to the children on a Monday. This is the only opportunity for us to change your child's book so please ensure their books are in school on the days stated.
Water Bottles - please ensure your child brings a clearly labelled water bottle everyday, as water fountains are not in use.
We have got a busy year and we intend to make your learning fun and enjoyable. Our topic include Continents and Oceans, The Great Fire of London, Africa, Nelson Mandela and Rosa Parks, Hot and Cold Places and a wide variety of books that will be used in English. So get ready to learn lots of new facts and information through exciting lessons!
