Welcome to Year Six

Welcome back and a very warm welcome to Year 6!  We have a great year to look forward to with an exciting, packed curriculum and some great trips and workshops planned.

In addition to myself and Mrs Valentine, I would like to welcome Mrs Ashurst to the year 6 teaching team.  Mrs Ashurst will be with us three mornings each week.

Mr Ashton

our PE and Games days are Monday and Thursday.  Please ensure that children attend school in the correct kits on these days.

Homework is uploaded every Friday (via SeeSaw)  and is to be completed by the following Wednesday.  The piece of homework will be either maths or English.  In addition to this, children are expected to complete 3 sessions of Reading Plus every week and to be regularly accessing TT Rockstars.

Children will be tested on their spellings every Friday.

Every child has been issued with a school/home reading book as part of our school's 100 book reading challenge.  Each child will be expected to complete a short piece of writing after they have read their book.  This could be a book review or a character/setting study.  Children are encouraged to read every day at school and home.

World War Two Projects  May we remind children that their World War 2 projects are due in on Wednesday 24th November.  We are looking forward to seeing all their hard work!

Wednesday 8th December 2021- World War 2 workshop all day in school.  Letters have been sent out and payment can be made through LunchShop.

Tuesday 18th January 2022 - Electricity workshop all day in school.  Letters will be sent out nearer the time.
