Year 6

Welcome to Year 6!

Welcome back to our new year 6 children! The children have returned to school after the summer break with the perfect attitudes and I know the children will make me proud and demonstrate what a super Year 6 class they are.

PE days are MONDAY and THURSDAY each week.  May we remind you that children must come to school in their PE kits (or Games kits if the weather is cold) on these days.  The children will remain in their PE kits for the duration of the school day.  It is not necessary to send in other clothes to change into as we don't have the space for extra bags in school.

Children will be tested every TUESDAY morning.  All spelling can be accessed through SeeSaw, however if you prefer a paper copy, please ask Mr Ashton.

Each week, children will have English and Maths homework to complete.  This will be uploaded onto SeeSaw  every FRIDAY and is to be completed and sent to me by the following WEDNESDAY.

If your child has any issues accessing SeeSaw, send a note in the planner and photocopies of homework can be sent home.

Dates for your diary:

Monday 12th October 2020 (morning) - World War 2 Workshop

This is a half day workshop  based on our history topic World War 2.  Children will learn about key events of WW2 such as, the Blitz, D-Day, the Battle of Britain and much more.  They will get the opportunity to view and handle artefacts, blackout model windows and use a real morse code machine!  To pay for this exciting workshop, please visit the  LunchShop website.

Wednesday 20th January 2021 (all day) - Electricity Workshop

We have planned an electricity workshop which supports our science topic.  Children will learn about electrical circuits, appliances, conductors and insulators and so much more!  Details have yet to be uploaded on LunchShop.

Hello Year 6,

All of your remote learning tasks for this half term will be posted in the Home Learning tab. Please complete all the activities to the very best of your ability, just as I would expect from you in school. Try to be as independent as you possibly can - make sure you read powerpoints and instructions before attempting tasks. Try to be as neat as possible - make sure any work that you upload is readable, otherwise I can't see how you've done.

As well as completing the activities that I set, I'd like you all to complete at least two Reading Plus assignments every day. This should take you no more than half an hour. Please continue to use TT Rockstars as well.
